Statuario Venato
White Carrara-district marble with dense, high-contrast grey veining
Statuario Venato belongs to the wider Carrara family of marbles, formed around 190 million years ago when calcium-carbonate sediment settled on the floor of the ancient Tethys Sea, later metamorphosed into marble as the Apuan Alps were pushed upward.
Its brilliant white background is threaded with dense, fairly straight grey veining – cooler and higher-contrast than the softer grey veining of standard Carrara marble, without the warmer gold tones seen in Calacatta.
At Landford Stone, we select and supply natural marble like Statuario Venato directly, backed by expert advice on finish, fabrication and long-term care.

Stone to last
a lifetime
As a natural stone, this marble is porous and should be sealed on installation, with re-sealing roughly every 12-18 months to guard against staining. Wipe up spills promptly - acidic liquids such as wine, citrus juice and vinegar can etch and dull the polished surface - and always clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than bleach, ammonia or other acidic or abrasive products. Use a chopping board and trivets to protect against scratches and heat marks. With correct care, marble develops a genuine natural patina and remains a beautiful, long-lasting surface for generations.
