Nero Zimbabwe

Nero Zimbabwe

A deep, near-absolute black stone with a subtle fine-grained texture and mirror-like polish

Nero Zimbabwe is a natural dark stone quarried in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa.
Despite its trade name, Nero Zimbabwe is geologically a gabbro rather than a true granite — an intrusive igneous rock whose plagioclase, pyroxene and amphibole content gives it an exceptionally dense, hard structure, harder-wearing than most granites. It displays a near-absolute black background with fine grey-to-black crystal flecks, and takes an outstanding mirror-like polish. As with all natural stone, colour and pattern vary slab to slab. Its high compressive strength and wear resistance suit both interior surfaces and exterior applications such as flooring and cladding.

Nero Zimbabwe is a natural dark stone quarried in Zimbabwe, prized for its near-absolute black colour, fine-grained texture and outstanding mirror-like polish.

As a genuinely natural stone, no two slabs are identical — each carries its own density of fine crystal flecking. Geologically a gabbro rather than a true granite, it’s exceptionally hard-wearing, suited to kitchen worktops, bathroom vanities and even exterior flooring and cladding.

At Landford Stone, we source Nero Zimbabwe through our trusted natural stone suppliers, offering expert advice and fabrication for every project.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Stone to last

a lifetime

Natural stone is hardwearing but, unlike engineered quartz, benefits from periodic resealing to maintain its stain resistance. Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and a microfibre cloth, wiping up spills promptly and avoiding acidic cleaners. We always recommend using chopping boards, trivets and protective pads, and following the specific care guidance for your Nero Zimbabwe surface.
