Callacatta Gold
Italy's celebrated gold-veined marble, prized for luxury interiors
Calacatta Gold shares its origins with the wider Carrara marble family – ancient seabed limestone, metamorphosed around 190 million years ago as the Apuan Alps were raised – but is quarried from smaller, higher-value basins within that district.
Its bold gold and amber veining, set against a clean white ground, makes each slab genuinely unique in vein thickness, intensity and distribution – regarded among the most sought-after marbles in the world.
At Landford Stone, we select and supply natural marble like Calacatta Gold directly, backed by expert advice on finish, fabrication and long-term care.

Stone to last
a lifetime
As a natural stone, this marble is porous and should be sealed on installation, with re-sealing roughly every 12-18 months to guard against staining. Wipe up spills promptly - acidic liquids such as wine, citrus juice and vinegar can etch and dull the polished surface - and always clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than bleach, ammonia or other acidic or abrasive products. Use a chopping board and trivets to protect against scratches and heat marks. With correct care, marble develops a genuine natural patina and remains a beautiful, long-lasting surface for generations.
