Callacata Oro
A golden-veined Italian marble prized for bookmatched slabs
Calacatta Oro shares its origins with the wider Carrara marble family in the Apuan Alps, quarried from stone that began as ancient seabed limestone and was later metamorphosed as the Tuscan mountains were formed.
Its milky-white ground is threaded with pronounced, largely linear veining in grey interlaced with warm gold tones – a directional pattern that makes it especially prized for bookmatched slab pairs, where the veining mirrors across the join.
At Landford Stone, we select and supply natural marble like Calacatta Oro directly, backed by expert advice on finish, fabrication and long-term care.

Stone to last
a lifetime
As a natural stone, this marble is porous and should be sealed on installation, with re-sealing roughly every 12-18 months to guard against staining. Wipe up spills promptly - acidic liquids such as wine, citrus juice and vinegar can etch and dull the polished surface - and always clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than bleach, ammonia or other acidic or abrasive products. Use a chopping board and trivets to protect against scratches and heat marks. With correct care, marble develops a genuine natural patina and remains a beautiful, long-lasting surface for generations.
