Bianco Statuario

A pure white Carrara marble prized for bold, dramatic veining

Bianco Statuario is a natural marble from the Apuan Alps above Carrara, Tuscany, traditionally associated with the Fantiscritti quarry basin - historically regarded as the finest grade of Carrara marble, reserved for sculpture.
A genuinely bright white surface with bold, high-contrast veining, finished to a very high polish.

TECHNICAL OPTIONS

FINISHES: Polished
THICKNESS: 20mm, 30mm
SPACES: Bathrooms, Commercial, Kitchen
RESISTANCE: Heat

Bianco Statuario belongs to the same Apuan Alps marble district as Carrara marble more broadly, formed from ancient seabed limestone metamorphosed roughly 190 million years ago during the mountain-building that raised the Tuscan Apennines.

Statuario-grade marble has long been regarded as the finest cut from this district, prized historically for sculpture – most famously Michelangelo’s David and Pieta – thanks to its very light background and capacity to hold fine detail under a high polish.

At Landford Stone, we select and supply natural marble like Bianco Statuario directly, backed by expert advice on finish, fabrication and long-term care.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Stone to last

a lifetime

As a natural stone, this marble is porous and should be sealed on installation, with re-sealing roughly every 12-18 months to guard against staining. Wipe up spills promptly - acidic liquids such as wine, citrus juice and vinegar can etch and dull the polished surface - and always clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than bleach, ammonia or other acidic or abrasive products. Use a chopping board and trivets to protect against scratches and heat marks. With correct care, marble develops a genuine natural patina and remains a beautiful, long-lasting surface for generations.
