The Verona Stone Show

Explore our brand-new Oyster Ceramica stone collection. Appointment Required

Earlier this month, Molly and Phil attended the stone-industry event of the annual calendar – the Marmo+Mac Verona Stone Show! We caught up with Molly on all the news.

Which displays stood out?

It was fantastic, the creativity and engineering on display was quite incredible. Philip and I absolutely loved the outdoor kitchen made out of an entire block of Austrian granite, complete with pullout circular shelves for storing wine! There was also a lot of back-lit onyx displays which were very impressive. My favourite of all, was a stunning table made entirely of sintered material.

Machinery and the magical micro-joint.

This year, what was most exciting was the machinery halls. Philip and I spent an entire day exploring the amazing new cutting-edge machinery. I’m thrilled to announce we have invested in a truly incredible micro-joint machine. This is such an exciting step forward for us at Landford Stone. Our new machine is being custom made to over 1.6m, specifically for our Teltos slabs, so we can achieve bookmatched islands and worktops with micro-joints. The new machine will be arriving in November and once it’s set up in the factory we will experiment and get prototypes done to ensure it’s running perfectly!

Starting in 2019 we will be able to offer the incredible ‘Landford Join’ as an optional extra. The results are quite incredible; almost invisible joins that with the naked eye are hard to spot!

Here are some examples of micro-joins, good luck with spotting the joins!

Cutting-edge Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

At the show Philip and I got demonstrations from all four major CNC manufacturers. The major-driving factor now in differentiating the best machinery from the rest is not mechanical elements but the strength and sophistication of the software. Phillip and I were on the lookout for a machine with the most advanced and user-friendly software – and we found it!

Our amazing new CNC will be arriving in either February or August 2019. It’s set to be a truly invaluable asset and will be able to produce: recess draining, mitre work, sink and tap cut-outs and drainer grooves. This mega beautiful machine we’ve ordered does the lot! We will quite literally be able to put input the cut to size material and take off the finished kitchen ready for installation.

Exciting new material!

And finally, no Italy trip is complete without sourcing some new amazing material! Pictured below is a sneak peek of some of the wow-factor natural stone’s that has just arrived at our yard including: Titanium Gold, Vermont Black, Stromboli and and Lennon Black.
