Lapitec® uses sintered stone, consisting of 100% natural minerals that can be found in granites and porcelain materials.
Landford Stone is an approved fabricator of Lapitec®. Lapitec® surfaces have a composition similar to a granite but with the hardness of porcelain. Its carefully selected minerals are processed using sintering technology and machinery.
The sintering process involves subjecting particles to very high heat and pressure to fuse minerals together. This process requires no binding agents helping to provide Lapitec® with colour stability, recyclability and almost zero porosity.
Lapitec® is non porous and therefore resistant to staining, mould and bacteria. Lapitec® ’s resistance to these factors means it is easily cleaned. It is long lasting and completely weather proof. Every slab is resistant to acids, alkalis, deep abrasions, fire, frost and is unaffected by UV rays.

Biotech is a Lapitec® line designed and developed to breakdown and wash away the organic atmospheric particles which deposit on the surface as well as having a bactericidal effect. To achieve this result this specific Bio-Care line is produced by incorporating a special form of Titanium dioxide (TiO2) during the Lapitec® production.
Scientific research has also demonstrated how the powerful oxidation properties of Titanium dioxide destroys bacteria (as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus) and mould, fungus and micro organisms reducing the unpleasant odours produced.
